Today I'm working on a bridal headpiece and unlike other designers i dont have it drawn out on a page ive no bead board and to be honest I dont yet know what the end result is actually going to look like.  I just have a vague notion in my head of a piece that stands out and is sweeping across the bride's perfectly styled hair.

I get asked alot, where do you get your inspiration from, I think its just within, beading is like an addiction to me as it is always going on in my head no matter where i am or what I'm doing.  That is why I honestly believe that if you have something that you are truly passionate about you should follow it no matter what.  Sure, develop it and definately learn your craft, but if you have to look at or copy other people's work, then thats not it,  its not the right thing for you.  Find your passion.

When you find it you'll know.

Well that's 2016 nearly done and what a huge year for JFJ! I think this is the year I will always remember as it was the year I had ultimate pleasure of changing to creating jewellery fulltime,  As I expected its the best thing Ive ever done and I truly believe in following your passion and using the talents God gave you.

I have achieved so much in '16 one highlight being the Wedding Journal Show 2 day event in the Titanic Exhibition centre and also having my Jewellery stocked in the prestigious Slieve Donard Resort and Spa Newcastle.

Roll on 2017 and all it brings.

So next I have bitten the bullet and taken on a major show.  I'll be exhibiting my work at the Wedding Journal Show, Titanic Exhibition Centre on 1st and 2nd of October 2016.

I am doing as much as I can now so that I dont hit total panic stations at the last minute.

Theres so much planning.organising and making to be done.

Tony Robbins once said if you want to take the Island burn your Freekin boats! well Ive certainly burnt mine now, but its leaving me very excited and so busy so that can't be a bad thing.

One of the things I look forward to the most though, honestly, is meeting so many people, so maybe, hopefully, I'll see you there!

Today's new technique ive learnt is Spiral Staircase stitch, it's a lot easier than right-angled stitch and looks prettier. I will of course be experimenting with mixed colours and sizes of course as one colour is usually not enough for me and even though it's a standard stitch I always strive to put my own design on things as I love to be different. Thats why I don't watch what everyone else is doing, I read somewhere if you're running a race don't look back to see where your competitors are or youll lose concentration and give away your energy.

It's not a great photo as its in trial mode at the minute and I need a new camera better suited for Jewelery pics or someone to tell me how to use my own Canon S15!!

Did you know I also make children's Jewellery, I don't know about you but when I was a wee tot I was straight into my Mum's Jewellery box and was totally mesmerised by it.  I suppose you really could say I've had a love of Jewellery and all things bling and sparkly from a very early age.

Any hows, remembering this I thought I would make little miniture bracelets "Just like Mommie's" that also tinkle with a little silver bell and come in a fancy Baby Jaine Gift Box too. I only have them in one shop at the minute, Thumbelina, Newcastle Co.Down and they sell really well. Here's a pic of the latest little ones. They currently sell at £9.99. leave any questions or comments in the box below.

There's alot of work going on in the background at the minute.  Im very busy with meetings, Graphic Designer and organising up coming events. Its really overtaking mostly all of my time and there aren't enough hours in the day for sure, but the one thing I know is that Its the right thing for me, its what I ve always done and always wanted to do.  I think when what you do feels more like an exciting game or journey, you are on your right path (or on purpose as they say). I intend to follow that path as I have learned very recently that each day is a blessing to receive and days fly by very quickly so why are we not making the best we can of each one.

This is the end result of yesterday's necklace, made with pearl and Miyuki seed beads.

It took a while due to the beading technique but I think its really summery and lovely on tanned skin!

Let me know what you think in the comments box below I value your feedback.

Thanks
